Raleigh Named the Second of Most Educated Cities in America
A recent study conducted and detailed by the experts at Forbes named Raleigh as number two out of every city in the entire country in there listing of the Most Educated Cities in America.
Explaining the criteria in which they used to study, judge and then finally rank and arrive at their listing of the Most Educated Cities in America, the website stated, “To determine where the most educated Americans are putting their degrees to work and thus are most valuable to their local economies, WalletHub’s analysts compared the 150 largest metropolitan statistical areas, or MSAs, across nine key metrics. Our data set ranges from share of adults aged 25 and older with a bachelor’s degree or higher to quality of the public school system to gender education gap. Going further in their explanation of the analysis process, it detailed their methods of naming the Most Educated Cities in America, continuing to say, “To identify the most and least educated cities in America, our analysts compared the 150 most populated U.S. metropolitan statistical areas, or MSAs, across two key dimensions, including “Educational Attainment” and “Quality of Education & Attainment Gap.”
Concluding the explanation of this in depth annual study done by Forbes, it was then noted that “We evaluated those dimensions using nine relevant metrics, which are listed below with their corresponding weights. Each metric was graded on a 100-point scale, with a score of 100 representing the highest educational attainment and quality of education. Finally, we determined each metro area’s weighted average across all metrics to calculate its total score and used the resulting scores to rank-order the metro areas in our sample.”
